Urteil - Platon, Aristoteles, Thomas, Occam

In die (wahre oder falsche) Verbindung (symplokê) von Substantiv (onoma) und Verb (rhêma) setzt die Urteilsfunktion PLATO. Ein Satz kommt nicht zustande, wenn man nicht tois onomasi ta rhêmata kerasê. tote de hêrmose te kai logos egeneto euthys hê prôtê symplokê, schedon tôn logôn ho prôtos kai smikrotatos ... hotan eipê tis anthrôpos manthanei, logon einai phês touton elachiston te kai prôton. dêloi gar êdê pou tote peri tôn ontôn ê gignomenôn ê gegonotôn ê mellontôn, kai ouk onomazei monon, alla ti perainei symplekôn ta rhêmata tois onomasi (Sophist. 261 E squ.). Das Urteil ist eine Tätigkeit der Seele selbst (Theaet. 187 A. vgl. W. Jerusalem, Die Urteilsfunct. S. 41 f.). Nach ARISTOTELES ist das Urteil die Aussage über Wahres oder Falsches, über Bestehen oder Nichtbestehen von etwas (phônê sêmantikê peri tou hyparchein ti ê mê hyparchein, De interpret. 5, 17 a 20). Das Urteil ist eine Verknüpfung (symplokê) zweier Wörter, eine Synthese zweier Begriffe (synthesis tis êdê noêmatôn hôsper hen ontôn, De an. III 6, 430 a 27). Unbestimmt (logos aoristos) ist das weder allgemeine noch partikuläre Urteil (Anal. pr. I, 1). Die Stoiker stellen den Begriff der Synkatathesis (s. d.), der »Zustimmung« im Urteilen auf. Sie unterscheiden unvollständige (ellipê) und vollständige (autotelê) Urteile (axiômata) (Diog. L. VII 1, 63. vgl. Prantl, G. d. L. I, 428). Ein Urteil ist ho estin alêthes ê pseudos ê pragma autoteles apophanton hoson eph' heautô ... ônomastai de to axiôma apo tou axiousthai ê atheteisthai. ho gar legôn Hemera estin, axioun dokei to hêmeran einai (Diog. L. VII 1, 65).

SCOTUS ERIUGENA unterscheidet affirmative und abdicative Urteile (De div. nat. I, 14). M. PSELLUS definiert: protasis esti logos alêtheian ê pseudos sêmainôn (vgl. Prantl, G. d. L. II, 266). Auf die Einheit im Urteil weist ABAELARD hin. THOMAS bestimmt: »Enunciatio est oratio, in qua verum vel falsum est« (1 perih. 7 a). Daß im Urteil ein Akt der Zustimmung, Anerkennung vorliegt, ein »actus iudicativus«, »quo intellectus non tantum apprehendit obiectum, sed etiam illi assentit vel dissentit«, lehrt WILHELM VON OCCAM. Dem gesprochenen Satze geht das ungesprochene, innere Urteil (»propositio mentalis«) voraus (Log. I, 12: In 1. sent., prol. qu. 1, 2. vgl. Prantl, G. d. L. III, 333 ff.).
