Involution

Involution: Einwicklung, Gegensatz zur Evolution (s. d.). Nach NICOLAUS CUSANUS ist »involutio« so viel wie »complicatio« (s. d.). LEIBNIZ betrachtet den Tod (s. d.) nur als eine Involution, eine Vereinfachung des Organismus (Monadol. 73). CHR. WOLF spricht von einer »involutio praeteriti et futuri omniumque praesentium in idea sensuali« (Psychol. rational. § 188). HERBART versteht unter Involution einer Vorstellungsreihe (s. d.) die Reproduktion (s. d.) durch die letzte Vorstellung. So auch VOLKMANN (Lehrb. d. Psychol. I4, 460).
