Neuplatoniker

Neuplatoniker sind diejenigen Philosophen, welche Lehren PLATOS und anderer griechischer Philosophen (Pythagoreer, Stoiker u. a.) mit orientalischen Ideen verbinden. Ihre Lehre ist Mystik (s. d.), Emanationslehre (s. d.), Theosophie (s. d.). Zu ihnen gehören: AMMONIUS SAKKAS, PLOTIN, PORPHYR, JAMBLICH, PROKLUS, SYNESIUS, NEMESIUS, AENEAS VON GAZA, JOH. PHILOPONUS, DIONYSIUS AREOPAGITA. Vom Neuplatonismus beeinflußt sind verschiedene andere Philosophen, wie JOH. SCOTUS ERIUGENA, die Mystiker (s. d.), die Kabbalâ, jüdische und arabische Philosophen des Mittelalters u. a. Vgl. Einheit, Emanation, Gott, Geist, Intelligibel u.s.w.
